Battlefield 6 — Community Update: Battlefield Labs Returns

Hello everyone,

On December 2, 2025 we’ll bring Battlefield Labs back online. Previous Labs phases gave us rapid, focused feedback on ideas before they arrived in the live game. Now we’re expanding that approach—refining how we test together as part of our commitment to deliver the most ambitious Battlefield live service in franchise history.

Up next

This next Battlefield Labs session marks the program’s return and offers an early look at some of the changes arriving with the December 9 game update.

Combat improvements under test

This session concentrates on core gameplay refinements—improving clarity, responsiveness, and the overall feel of combat. Tests will run on Eastwood and Operation Firestorm within the All-Out Warfare playlist (Conquest and Escalation) and include:

  • Enhanced audio footsteps to improve distance perception, surface distinction, and enemy audibility.
  • Networking and hit‑registration adjustments designed to deliver more consistent interactions and snappier responsiveness in close-quarters and intense firefights.
  • Wider tweaks across core combat systems that affect all play, evaluated through targeted Labs scenarios.

This play session will be PC-only via the EA app and Steam, scheduled as follows (all dates: Tuesday, December 2, 2025):

  • APAC: 8:00–10:00 PM JST
  • EU: 7:00–9:00 PM CET
  • NA: 4:00–6:00 PM PST

Please note: participation in Battlefield Labs remains subject to an NDA.

We’ll confirm exact session times directly with invited participants before the tests begin. Keep an eye on the email address you used to sign up for Battlefield Labs for those details.

Evolving Battlefield Labs

As Labs grows, we’re broadening how we validate gameplay across development cycles to produce clearer insights, involve more players, and better validate upcoming experiences. Moving forward, Battlefield Labs will primarily host two kinds of play opportunities:

  • Planned play sessions — recurring, scheduled events that test experimental or future-focused features and content so players can experience and shape them before release.
  • Short-notice quick sessions — rapid, targeted tests assembled on short notice to capture immediate community feedback on focused gameplay changes.

We’re also exploring simpler, more accessible ways to let more players join future Labs sessions. We’ll share updates as those plans take shape.

Looking ahead

In the coming months, Battlefield Labs will be used to evaluate a broader set of early concepts and experimental scenarios that benefit from real‑player insight. Planned areas of exploration include map layout changes, pacing variations, and alternative team compositions—such as reduced player counts or vehicle-focused matches.

As Labs expands, it will remain a dependable space to test early ideas, gather focused feedback, and involve a wider cross-section of players in shaping Battlefield across areas like:

  • New maps and tailored experiences
  • New modes and experimental rulesets
  • Prototype mechanics and systems
  • Environmental and world changes
  • Early seasonal beats before they’re finalized
  • Stability and performance improvements
