ARC Raiders Tames Unreal Engine 5 — Runs at 60 FPS Even on an RTX 4060
A new ray of hope appears for Unreal Engine 5. The recent shooter ARC Raiders has delivered unexpectedly strong optimization — something that hadn’t been widely anticipated from this engine.
The game posted impressive metrics even before the weekend — strong enough that its activity could rival Battlefield 6. On Steam, Embark Studios’ title already holds 89% positive reviews, and that figure continues to climb.
ARC Raiders was developed on Unreal Engine 5, an engine often criticized for its performance. Yet the team achieved a steady 60 frames per second at 1080p (DLAA) on max settings without RTGI using an RTX 4060. For a budget GPU, that’s a remarkable result.
According to Geralt Benchmarks, the same RTX 4060 exceeds 70 fps when running DLSS 4 Quality with RTGI enabled. The channel zWORMz Gaming demonstrated the game on the more powerful RTX 5070 and even showed that ARC Raiders is playable on the Steam Deck.
Visually the title also stands alongside top releases. ARC Raiders has emerged as one of 2025’s most beautiful and technically advanced games, while also ranking among the best-optimized. It’s no surprise Embark Studios is receiving a flood of praise from players already immersed in its post-apocalyptic world.
