Regardless of the wait, the general consensus is that this update has delivered the most substantial efficiency boost since the game launched in 2020.
While the 3.0 content is available to explore right now, anticipation is still building for the upcoming Switch 2 Edition. Slated for release on January 15, that version is expected to bring 4K resolution, mouse-compatible controls, and the return of the Megaphone item.
Following this surprise patch, Nintendo has suggested it is “continuously evaluating” the balance between supporting current hits and developing new titles for the next generation of hardware.
