Vulnerability Found in Unity Engine — Genshin Impact and Other Games Released in the Last 8 Years at Risk

Unity has encountered a security issue.

Unity’s team recently disclosed a vulnerability that could impact a variety of projects.
The engine powers many well-known games, including miHoYo (HoYoverse)’s Genshin Impact.

Unity’s developers urge users to update their software because the security flaw affects Unity 2017.1 and newer releases. The issue is relevant across platforms — Windows, Android, Linux, and macOS.

Some studios have already publicly announced that patches are being rolled out — for example, the makers of the survival title V Rising:

“We have already resolved the problem on client machines and are now working on a fix for the server client.

We strongly recommend updating your game and the dedicated server client as soon as those updates are available, and to exercise extreme caution with any mods you download until you can confirm they are safe.”
