Valve to Unveil Deckard VR Headset on November 12 — New Half‑Life Rumored to Accompany It

Signs are mounting that Valve is preparing a slate of major announcements for mid-November.

VR industry researcher Brad Lynch (known online as SadlyItsBradley) reported that Valve intends to unveil a new device on November 12. According to him, the company plans to “simply announce” the hardware that Wednesday, with fuller details and preorder options possibly arriving one to two weeks later.

The reports refer to the previously mentioned Valve Deckard VR headset. In October, the Chinese research group XR Research Institute stated the device had entered mass production, estimating annual output between 400,000 and 600,000 units. Insiders Tyler McVicker and Brad Lynch later corroborated that assessment.

Lynch clarified on his Discord that the information came “from several sources at different times.” That aligns with his earlier hints about Valve’s activity in mid-November and with an observation by a user called sameseksure, who flagged an unusual gap in Steam’s events calendar from November 18 to December 8. The community has interpreted that interval as a plausible window for a headline announcement.

Many expect Valve to reprise the 2019 approach, when the Index launched alongside Half-Life: Alyx. Rumors suggest the company is developing a new Half-Life project optimized for the Deckard’s capabilities. McVicker previously indicated a trailer for the next installment is already in production. Leaks have varied — from claims of Half-Life 3 to a standalone VR title dubbed Half-Life X — but the accumulation of reports around Deckard points toward a new game created specifically for the headset.

Valve has not officially commented on a possible announcement or confirmed the existence of the Deckard headset, so these reports should be treated cautiously. The picture should become clearer in the coming days.
