Studio 1047 Games has addressed concerns regarding the low concurrent player counts on Steam for its multiplayer shooter, Splitgate: Arena Reloaded. In an official statement, the developers emphasized that Steam’s public charts do not accurately represent the game’s actual reach or health.
Steam Charts don’t measure the “fun factor.” They track a single statistic on one platform at one specific moment. They fail to reflect the total experience, the feel of the gameplay, or the community that is actively helping us shape the future of Arena Reloaded (including upcoming projects like Arena Royale).
The development team also pointed out that they have spent the last half-year completely overhauling the title and remain fully dedicated to the project. They encouraged players to experience Arena Reloaded for themselves, noting that as a free-to-play title, the gameplay experience is currently at its peak.
This statement sparked a polarized response: some community members accused the studio of making excuses and triggering the “Streisand effect”—arguing that the post only drew more attention to the dwindling numbers. However, following the announcement, concurrent player counts on Steam saw a modest uptick, briefly crossing the one-thousand-player threshold.
