“Many people won’t notice the severity because they aren’t playing in the most aggressive lobbies,” noted one commenter on X. “In those brackets, at least half the players have previous VAC bans, private profiles, or suspicious, brand-new Steam accounts.”
Shroud GOES OFF on Embark Studios for not fixing the cheating issue in Arc Raiders 🤬🗣️”Embark has 0 control over their game, if there’s no meaningful change in the next week or 2, what’s the point in f*cking playing it’s a waste of time””50% of each lobby is cheating” 😳🌶️ pic.twitter.com/uNF7KecjBz

Quantifying the exact scale of exploitation is difficult, yet the volume of complaints from the general player base is surging. The PvP-centric Stella Montis map has become particularly infamous; players report being attacked through terrain and roofs, rendering certain zones virtually unplayable.
Embark Studios has formally acknowledged the issue, with a community manager addressing the concerns on their official Discord server. “Every in-game report is being reviewed, though the process takes time,” explained CM Birdie. “We understand your frustration. The team is actively working to purge these bad actors from the game.”
While exasperating, a surge in cheating often mirrors a game’s sudden popularity and growth. Embark is undoubtedly refining their anti-cheat protocols, but for now, players are encouraged to keep submitting reports to help provide the necessary data for a long-term fix.
