Serious Sam 2 Gets First Update in 20 Years — Dataminer Finds New Clues Suggesting It’s Just the Beginning
This installment isn’t to every player’s taste, yet it still has its followers.
This year marked an anniversary for the shooter Serious Sam 2. Croteam returned to the title and issued a special two-part update.
Various technical problems were addressed, audio and menu rendering were corrected, enemy spawners were retuned, and the options list was expanded — including a new “Max. FPS” setting. Full Steam Deck support was also implemented.
The Serious Sam 2 team may be planning to revisit the game again soon. In November, several achievement-related entries appeared in the SteamDB records.
According to the change history, the final achievement list hasn’t been finalized yet. For example, one day a condition for the achievement “Complete Game on ANY Difficulty with 3X Enemy Multiplier” (previously described as “finish the game on any difficulty with triple enemy numbers”) was relaxed — the updated requirement calls for a “double enemy multiplier” instead.
