Payday 3 removes criticized mechanic in February gameplay update nearly 3 years later

The era of “Wi-Fi circles” has finally come to an end.

The development team behind Payday 3 has rolled out Update 3.2, introducing a series of “quality of life” enhancements specifically designed to refine the game’s overall flow and responsiveness.

Starbreeze Studios is tackling several gameplay frustrations head-on; for instance, players can now reload shotguns or cycle rifle bolts while maintaining a full sprint, keeping the momentum high during intense shootouts.

One of the most significant changes is the complete removal of the tedious “Wi-Fi circle” mechanic, which has been replaced by a more intuitive panel-hacking system in the Under the Surphaze, 99 Boxes, Gold & Sharke, and Turbid Station heists.

Furthermore, the patch revamps the lockpicking and safe-cracking mechanics for a better feel. The developers have also implemented weapon rebalancing, expanded the interaction radius for world objects, and addressed a variety of lingering technical bugs.
