Movement 2026 Announces Phase 1 Lineup Featuring Danny Brown, Carl Cox and More

Movement Festival 2026 Reveals Phase One Lineup

Hart Plaza, Detroit — Memorial Day Weekend, May 23–26, 2026

Organizers of Detroit’s Movement Festival have unveiled the first wave of artists for the 2026 edition. The initial lineup spans techno, house and jungle, pairing legendary figures with fresh breakthrough acts.

Headliners and highlights include hip-hop luminary Danny Brown and techno titan Carl Cox. The roster also features Kevin Saunderson — a cornerstone of Detroit techno — alongside DJ Harvey, Maceo Plex and Anna. U.K. producer Barry Can’t Swim, Brazilian artist Mochakk, jungle innovator Nia Archives and Dutch act Ki/Ki are among the names joining Movement for the first time.

Carl Cox said returning to Detroit reinvigorates the force that shaped his career; he described the upcoming set as a full-throttle performance and urged fans to be front and center when he brings that energy to Hart Plaza.

Movement 2026 will take place at Hart Plaza over Memorial Day Weekend, from May 23 through May 26. Tickets are available now.

The festival is produced by Detroit promoter Paxahau, which has stewarded Movement since 2006. Paxahau has long emphasized Detroit’s homegrown techno tradition while giving early-stage talent — particularly local artists — a major platform.

Jason Huvaere, Paxahau’s founder, has previously described the project as a lifelong dedication to Detroit techno culture and a commitment that informs the festival’s programming year after year.
