Calling all Halsey aficionados: dust off your signature blue wigs—she’s reviving two standout tracks from her inaugural Badlands era, unveiling a dual music-video project for “Drive” and “Gasoline.”
In a moody teaser on Instagram, Halsey re-emerges with her trademark pastel-blue hair behind the wheel of a pink convertible, winding through shadowy, desolate landscapes. One moment finds her basking in a rose-tinted glow atop a sunlit balcony, the next racing down a dim hallway as lights flicker in rhythm with the beat.
Overlay text declares, “10 YEARS LATER… WE NEVER LEFT.”
In the caption, she teased simply: “GASOLINE and DRIVE double feature. coming soon.”
This announcement lands nearly a decade after the New Jersey singer-songwriter dropped her debut LP on August 28, 2015—an album that soared to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and introduced hits like “Colors” and “New Americana.”
Though Halsey has since released four more albums, including 2024’s The Great Impersonator, Badlands remains a touchstone. To commemorate its fifth anniversary, she issued Badlands (Live From Webster Hall) in 2020.
Reflecting on its enduring impact in 2023, she wrote on X: “It’s surreal to see how this album’s legacy has grown. But I always knew it was special. To everyone who’s been here since day one—thank you. You changed my life.”
Currently wrapping her tour behind The Great Impersonator—complete with ever-changing setlists spanning her catalog—she had slated a closing date in Istanbul for August 28 but canceled it over logistical and safety concerns.
Addressing disappointed fans on X, Halsey explained: “Your safety means everything to me. I can’t risk you camping in dangerous spots or going without water just for a show. We’ll make it right soon, and I promise this won’t happen again.”
