GamingonPhone staged its fifth awards ceremony, honouring the achievements of developers, publishers and technologies within the mobile gaming sector.
The fifth edition of the GamingonPhone Awards was held in Bangkok and, for the first time, took place as an in-person event. A total of 240 finalists competed across 30 categories, with winners determined by a judging panel, the publication’s editors and the player community.
The top prize — “Mobile Game of the Year” — went to DC Dark Legion. This tactical strategy set in the DC universe stood out for its striking visuals and engaging gameplay, successfully translating comic-book lore to mobile devices. The title also claimed the award for “Best Adaptation”.
The fan-voted accolade “Players’ Game of the Year” was awarded to the Japanese sensation Uma Musume Pretty Derby, underscoring the enthusiasm and loyalty of its fanbase.
In the “Best Indie Game” category, Subnautica — which launched on mobile in July — took the prize. Another indie port, Dredge, received the award for innovation, while its studio, Black Salt Games, was named Indie Studio of the Year.
Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown won “Premium Game of the Year”. The revival of the classic franchise was praised for its energetic gameplay, responsive controls and a high-quality mobile adaptation.
The award for “Best Ongoing Game” went to Clash Royale. Nearly a decade after its debut, Supercell’s title remains popular and commercially successful, and ranked among the top-grossing mobile games in 2025.
Finally, the title of “Most Anticipated Game” was bestowed on Honor of Kings: World — a spin-off of Tencent’s well-known MOBA.
