It has been revealed who will play Peeves the Poltergeist in the Harry Potter series
Actor and comedian Peter Serafinowicz, known for his work in Guardians of the Galaxy, has been cast as the mischievous poltergeist Peeves for the inaugural season of HBO’s Harry Potter series, which adapts The Sorcerer’s Stone.
A permanent resident of Hogwarts since the castle’s inception, Peeves has long been a source of chaos and annoyance for both the student body and faculty alike. Notably, the character was entirely omitted from the original feature film franchise.
The Harry Potter series is slated to premiere on December 25, 2026. HBO has already greenlit a second season, which will focus on the events of The Chamber of Secrets.
