Anya Taylor-Joy Officially Cast in New Lord of the Rings Movie
Anya Taylor-Joy, known for her roles in “Furiosa” and “The Queen’s Gambit,” has officially joined the cast of “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,” scheduled for theatrical release on December 17, 2027.
Taylor-Joy is set to portray Seren, an elf serving under King Thranduil (played by Lee Pace). She joins a stellar ensemble cast that includes Kate Winslet, Jamie Dornan, Leo Woodall, and returning icons from the original trilogy: Elijah Wood (Frodo), Ian McKellen (Gandalf), and Andy Serkis, who will also direct the film. Peter Jackson is attached to the project as a producer.
Before the year concludes, fans can catch Taylor-Joy in the Apple TV+ series “Lucky” and the highly anticipated third installment of Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” saga.
