Elden Ring Nightreign DLC: Expected Release Window and What We Know
Elden Ring Nightreign’s paid expansion is now projected to arrive in early 2026 — framed by Kadokawa (FromSoftware’s parent company) as the concluding segment of its FY2025. In short, the DLC is still in development and may take a little longer to arrive than some players had hoped.
When Elden Ring Nightreign launched in May 2025, the deluxe edition and deluxe upgrade explicitly promised a forthcoming DLC. The Steam product page for the deluxe upgrade also states that “Additional DLC will be available by Q4 2025,” which has left many players wondering about the expansion’s status as the calendar year draws to a close. See the Steam listing.
Kadokawa’s second-quarter earnings materials, published on November 6, 2025, shed more light on the schedule. In its “future outlook” (page 16), the company notes that FromSoftware is developing the Elden Ring Nightreign DLC — “planned for release in FY2025” — alongside other titles. Read the earnings report.
Because Kadokawa’s fiscal year runs through March 31, 2026, a FY2025 release window means the DLC could arrive as late as March 2026. That technically keeps the company’s Q4/FY2025 commitment, while still leaving open the possibility of an earlier launch — potentially before the end of calendar 2025.
To date, Nightreign has received several free updates and the larger Deep of Night patch, which added a tougher difficulty tier. Those updates were free; the forthcoming paid DLC is therefore expected to introduce more substantial, paid content rather than small balance or quality-of-life tweaks.
The product description for the DLC promises “additional Nightfarers and bosses,” though details are scarce. The plural phrasing suggests multiple new Nightfarers — reasonably interpreted as at least two — plus a variety of new boss encounters. It’s also plausible the expansion could bring new weapons (possibly items seen previously in the Shadow of the Erdtree era) or even a fresh map area.
With the deluxe edition priced at $15, the standalone DLC could land in a similar price bracket. Note that the deluxe upgrade option is only available for purchase until the DLC is released, so prospective buyers should check availability while it remains offered.
