Arc Raiders Hotfix Disables Unintended Developer Command in Anti-Cheat Update

Prior to this fix, some players used the command to override engine visuals, significantly improving visibility compared to standard settings. Clips circulating on social media showed users playing with an expanded Field of View (FOV) and completely removing atmospheric fog. Crucially, this exploit could render smoke grenades entirely useless, providing a massive advantage over those playing the game as intended.

The community has recently voiced significant concerns regarding cheating in Arc Raiders. Last week, Ossen addressed these frustrations, stating that Embark is “taking this issue very seriously” and is actively monitoring player feedback. The studio plans to implement major changes to its rulesets and deploy more advanced detection systems in the coming weeks to identify and remove offenders.

While the NewConsole exploit wasn’t as egregious as traditional “aimbots” or wall-clipping, its removal marks a vital step in leveling the playing field. Beyond anti-cheat measures, Embark is also focusing on balance; the design team recently confirmed that Trigger Nades and Kettle kills are being adjusted to prevent instantaneous, unavoidable explosions that leave no room for counter-play.
