The Game Awards 2025 Sets New Viewership Record

A week has passed since The Game Awards 2025 concluded, and host Geoff Keighley has stepped forward to reflect on the event’s overall performance.

The showcase garnered a polarized reception. While many viewers were captivated, eagerly populating their wishlists with newly revealed titles, others expressed disappointment over a perceived lack of major announcements.

Nevertheless, the primary objective of the organizers is to maximize global engagement and spark conversations that last until the next award cycle. By that metric, this year’s installment was a resounding success.

Taking to X, Geoff Keighley revealed that TGA 2025 has officially become the most-watched iteration in the show’s history. The gala amassed a staggering 171 million views, marking an 11% increase over the previous year. This figure encompasses core broadcasts (excluding the inaugural Prime Video stream) and over 23,000 community co-streams across YouTube and Twitch—a 50% jump in creator participation compared to 2024. Furthermore, social engagement on X saw a 12% uptick.
