Fans of horror and stop-motion aesthetics have something new to look forward to with the upcoming release of Mutter.
The game boasts a striking visual style reminiscent of South of Midnight, which recently earned accolades at The Game Awards 2025. Developed by DeadlyCrow Games, Mutter transports players to a somber 1940s England.
Combining traditional stop-motion animation with puzzle-platforming mechanics, the gameplay offers a unique atmosphere. Players traverse various locations on a bicycle and must engage in survival crafting, such as scavenging for medicine and cooking specialized meals for the protagonist’s bedridden mother.
To give players a taste of its haunting world, the developers recently launched a playable demo. You can find the demo available on Steam, while the full version of Mutter is scheduled for a 2026 release.
