Input lag keeps coming up. “The input lag is awful. I can’t play it in its current state, whether handheld or docked,” another user comments, while another adds that it “essentially makes the game unplayable.”
One player asks whether the Switch 2 release is simply “a worse-performing version of Skyrim Switch 1” and follows up with a wry observation: “I’m playing it now and, honestly, it runs like a soggy mess — somehow impressive in its own way.”
There are also complaints about the upgrade path for existing owners. “If you own the physical game and the AE DLC, you must manually delete everything (including the game icon) and redownload the base game without the AE DLC to access the free upgrade from the in-game menu,” one Redditor reports, adding that their copy then crashed within ten minutes. A very familiar Bethesda experience, they note.
So, it’s not receiving glowing reviews. Bethesda has not publicly responded to these criticisms yet, so we’ll have to wait and see whether a patch or update addresses the most serious problems.
