Yuri Kolokolnikov Presented the Film “Lefty” at Comic Con Igromir 2025

The Comic Con Igromir 2025 festival served as the stage for the official presentation of “Lefty,” a high-octane adventure reimagining Nikolai Leskov’s classic novella. Lead actors Yuri Kolokolnikov and Fedor Fedotov took center stage to unveil exclusive footage and engage with the audience about the ambitious project.

The film centers on Petr Ogarev (Fedor Fedotov), a young officer tasked with an investigation involving a mysterious mechanical flea. His quest for answers leads him to a brilliant, eccentric inventor known as Lefty (Yuri Kolokolnikov). The film is directed by Vladimir Besedin, the creative force behind the “Major Grom” short film and a key screenwriter for “Major Grom: Plague Doctor.”

During an interview with FILM.ru, Yuri Kolokolnikov reflected on the grueling yet rewarding shoot:

“We’ve essentially birthed a new genre—the ‘adventure vaudeville.’ The production was relentless and saturated with action; there was always something exploding, crashing, or burning. We found ourselves suspended at great heights, thrown into fights, and pushed through intense chases. We had to endure a lot. At one point, even the horse Fedya and I were riding gave out, and we all ended up on the ground.

It was a thrilling journey with a phenomenal crew that moved as one cohesive unit under the baton of our ‘conductor,’ director Vladimir Besedin.”
