Volcano Update for The King Is Watching Releases Today — New Map, Squads, and Dozens of Improvements
The “Vulkan” update launches on December 9 at 21:00 MSK. It introduces a new map with distinctive mechanics, events, enemies, and bosses. Players will be able to recruit demonic squads and devise strategies built around a pact with the Inferno Lord. All content will be free.
The developers outlined a range of enhancements: new units, overhauled advisors, 19 artifacts, and merchant discounts. Crafting builds becomes easier — extra rerolls are available, schematics can be excluded from rewards, and buildings and artifacts are now tied to specific maps.
The update also revamps morale: structures now grant passive bonuses, the Tavern halves wine consumption and raises morale from supplies. Merchants will offer one discounted item, and certain advisors can boost that discount up to making the item free.
The kingdom gains four new warrior structures: the Lizard Stump, the Court of Paladins, the Barbarians’ Tent, and the Minotaur Camp. The Council will receive new aides: Moralina, the Winged Basket, the Doctor, and the Gold Seeker. On higher difficulty levels some modifiers will be toned down and the impact of dark rituals reduced.
