Prime Video Renews Reacher Neagley Spinoff for Season 2

Prime Video is expanding the Reacher universe. Just days after Amazon MGM Studios confirmed a sixth season of Reacher is coming, the company announced a second season for its first spinoff, Neagley. This renewal follows the debut of the eight-episode crime drama, which currently ranks as the No. 1 TV show on Prime Video two weeks after its release.

Neagley premiered on Prime Video on Sept. 16. The show has performed strongly since its launch, arriving on the same day that Reacher season 4 concluded.

Amazon MGM reported that Neagley reached 40 million viewers in its first 13 days on Prime Video, making it the platform’s fourth most-watched series debut. By comparison, Reacher season 4 reached 66 million global viewers in its first 28 days. Alan Ritchson also contributed to the spinoff’s launch by reprising his role as Jack Reacher as a guest star.

What is Neagley about?

Neagley stars Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, a Chicago private investigator and former military colleague of Jack Reacher from the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. Sten appeared in the first three seasons of Reacher. In her own series, Neagley investigates the suspicious death of a former friend, leading her into a dangerous search for justice. The character was created by Lee Child, but unlike Reacher, the spinoff is not a direct adaptation of the novels.

“Audiences around the world have embraced Frances Neagley as a force all her own,” said Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios, in a statement. “Maria Sten delivers a commanding, layered performance that drives every episode, and Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton have built a world that is both thrilling and compelling. We are excited to continue this story and explore what’s next for Neagley with our partners at Paramount Television Studios.”

Amazon MGM has not announced a release date for Neagley season 2. Based on the production timeline of the first season, fans can likely expect the second season around 2028. Meanwhile, Reacher season 5 is scheduled for release in 2027.
