ROCKSTAR UPDATE: Keir Starmer was asked about the Rockstar dismissals in Parliament today; he described the situation as “deeply concerning” and said ministers would investigate. Not that a Starmer promise is worth much, mind.

Speaking to the IWGB, Murray said his meeting with Rockstar “only deepened my concerns about the process they used to dismiss so many staff. I was not satisfied that their procedures adhered closely to UK employment law, nor convinced the dismissals were necessary, and I left unclear about what these 31 employees were alleged to have done to justify immediate termination.”
In November the IWGB told GamesRadar+: “If Rockstar wants to make amends, it should reinstate the dismissed staff, formally recognise the IWGB, and start listening to the workers who help generate its billions.”
The union added that the games industry suffers from chronic job insecurity, and that workers must unite and use their collective power to push back against that instability.
Rockstar accused of ‘ruthless’ dismissals ahead of GTA 6 — over 30 employees linked to a developers’ union were cut; Take-Two cites “gross misconduct,” while the labour group vows “we won’t back down.”
