Tomb Raider reveal confirmed for The Game Awards as developers tease return of iconic dual‑pistol Lara Croft: “Did you miss her?”

Tomb Raider The Game Awards teaser

It’s possible the reveal could relate to a non-gaming project — for example, the upcoming Prime Video series — but the wording (“the future of one of gaming’s most iconic franchises”) makes a video game announcement the likelier outcome. Teasing that phrase sets fan expectations for a new game reveal.

The silhouette itself is telling. As far back as 2021 Crystal Dynamics discussed a plan to “unify” the classic Tomb Raider timeline with its modern Survivor trilogy, and concept art since then has hinted at hybrid designs that blend ’90s costume flourishes with a more grounded character model. This new teaser seems to point toward a unified Lara Croft aesthetic.

At present, only two solid details about the new Tomb Raider are known: it’s being built in Unreal Engine 5 and Amazon Games will publish it. Crystal Dynamics has kept a low public profile in recent years — often reappearing only to announce staff changes — so here’s hoping The Game Awards reveal delivers clear, positive news for fans.

These are the best Tomb Raider games ever made.
