
Adler also emphasizes that “We have our own IPs at Obsidian.” He adds: “Do we want to continue those, or is there something new we want to introduce?”
Adler has previously talked about establishing an “Obsidian RPG” label — a point he revisits in the interview — so it wouldn’t be surprising if the studio keeps focusing on its own creations for the foreseeable future. Personally, I’d love to see them approach Sega about reviving the studio’s cult classic, Alpha Protocol.
Adler even boldly called Chrono Trigger “the best JRPG ever — and not even close,” noting it deserves more praise for being one of the rare classics where you don’t have to grind.
