Squad Busters lasted just two years — Supercell announces its closure

Supercell, the studio behind mobile hits Clash Royale and Brawl Stars, has announced that development on Squad Busters is complete and the game will be shut down in the second half of 2026.

Launched in May 2024 for iOS and Android, the title failed to meet Supercell’s performance expectations. Across its lifespan Squad Busters generated roughly $100 million — an outcome the company considered disappointing. The game will receive a final update in December, after which all support will cease.

In-game purchases will be disabled. Players who made purchases in 2025 will be offered the option to transfer their spent funds to other Supercell titles, including Clash Royale, Brawl Stars, Clash of Clans, Hay Day, or Boom Beach.

According to PocketGamer, the decision to close the game followed several unsuccessful attempts to broaden its audience. The Squad Busters development team will be reassigned to other projects within Supercell.
