Son of Murdered Rob Reiner Faces Life Imprisonment

Nick Reiner, the son of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner (director of When Harry Met Sally), is set to stand trial on charges of first-degree premeditated murder involving special circumstances.

The younger Reiner faces a possible life sentence for the deaths of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner. Their bodies, bearing multiple stab wounds, were discovered at their Los Angeles residence earlier this week.

The 32-year-old has a long history of substance abuse and has previously experienced homelessness. His personal struggles served as the partial inspiration for the 2015 drama Being Charlie, which was directed by his father.
