Jacobi Jupe, known for his role in Hamnet, has been cast as a lead in Universal’s upcoming The Exorcist reboot. Deadline first reported the casting news for the high-profile supernatural project.
Jupe joins the previously announced Scarlett Johansson in the ensemble. Acclaimed horror veteran Mike Flanagan, the creative force behind The Haunting of Hill House and The Life of Chuck, is set to both write and direct. Specific plot details for this new vision remain strictly under wraps.
The next installment of The Exorcist is tentatively scheduled for a 2027 theatrical release. The franchise’s legacy began with William Friedkin’s 1973 masterpiece, which was adapted from the terrifying novel by William Peter Blatty.
