Blue Ridge Hunting — A Co-op Horror Adventure Steeped in Appalachian Folklore
Six One Publishing, the publishing label spun out of the Six One Indie showcase, has announced its inaugural release: Blue Ridge Hunting. Developer Jade & Company has launched a Kickstarter campaign with exclusive backer rewards, and a playable demo is currently available on Steam.
Blue Ridge Hunting places up to three players in the Appalachian backcountry as members of the Appalachian Investigation Group. Teams will document strange phenomena, gather evidence, and hunt cryptids — including regional legends such as the Dewayo — combining cooperative gameplay with investigative mechanics.
According to the game’s press materials, the title draws directly from Appalachian reports and folklore. Players will use an array of tools and equipment to collect proof and track creatures; successful hunts earn money to upgrade gear. The developers warn that these entities can be perceptive — players should coordinate with proximity chat and radio, but avoid attracting undue attention.
At launch (version 1.0), Blue Ridge Hunting will include a full narrative campaign that follows Levi Chambers, a West Virginia native haunted by lifelong encounters with the infamous Mothman. That story-driven arc will send you across Appalachia, introducing a cast of characters, unsettling creatures, and layered local stories.

Jade & Company describes Blue Ridge Hunting as a tribute to Appalachian culture and storytelling. The narrative explores heavy topics — generational trauma, grief, and family bonds — through the region’s folklore and reported phenomena.
There is no confirmed release date yet. You can add Blue Ridge Hunting to your Steam wishlist and download the demo to sample the experience.
