Silent Hill 2 Remake: Hopes for ‘Born from a Wish’ DLC Grow as Bloober Team Writer Confirms Expansion and Possible Xbox Release — “Born from a what?”

Silent Hill 2 Remake

The Silent Hill 2 remake recently passed its one-year mark, and with that milestone the game’s timed PlayStation exclusivity ended. That change immediately renewed speculation about an Xbox Series X|S release — and whether that version might include the classic “Born from a Wish” bonus scenario. Now, a writer affiliated with Bloober Team has dropped a hint that fans are reading as a possible sign.

Grzegorz Like — credited as a lead writer on Layers of Fear and Cronos: The New Dawn, and listed in Silent Hill 2’s credits with a “Special Thanks” — quoted a report that the ESRB rated an Xbox edition of the Silent Hill 2 remake in a tweet that has since been deleted, adding: “well whaddya know!” An Xbox release was widely expected after the timed exclusivity expired, but the bigger question many players are asking is whether any DLC will accompany it.

While that exchange doesn’t confirm anything, a Bloober Team member referencing the expansion has given fans renewed hope — even though Salóme Gunnarsdóttir, who voices Maria in the remake, said last month she had not recorded any material for DLC. Leaker Dusk Golem (whose accuracy is mixed and should be taken cautiously) previously claimed that an Xbox version, a PS5 Pro performance/visual patch, and a Born from a Wish expansion are in the works — potentially timed around the release of the upcoming Silent Hill 2 film, Return to Silent Hill, which is slated to debut this coming January.
