AMC is reportedly developing a television adaptation of the iconic action thriller “Point Break.”
The project is set to be helmed by Dave Kalstein (noted for “Butterfly”). As of now, casting details and an official premiere date remain under wraps.
Kathryn Bigelow’s original 1991 masterpiece starred Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, following a rookie FBI agent who goes undercover to infiltrate a tight-knit ring of surfing bank robbers. While a 2015 cinematic remake failed to impress critics, the original remains a high-water mark of the genre.
Furthermore, the 1991 original is scheduled for a theatrical re-release in Russia on May 7, 2026, distributed by Illusion Cinema.
