If I had to sum it up in one phrase: peak “dadcore.” Steam’s latest breakout hit is a four-player cooperative romp about a group of middle-aged friends trying to shepherd their battered RV back home — appropriately titled RV There Yet?

Up to four players work together to stay on the road, survive the wilderness, and above all keep the RV from falling apart. One player handles the driving while teammates patch up obstacles, build makeshift bridges, and use a physics-based winch to haul the vehicle over hazards. When they’re not fixing the RV, they’re often hanging out inside, chain-smoking and getting steadily more inebriated.

Steam’s store page warns that not everyone makes it out of Mabutts Valley alive, so you’ll need a steady supply of burgers, antidotes, and — of course — EpiPens. See the Steam listing.

The formula clearly clicked: the indie title rocketed up Steam’s best-seller lists and quickly attracted six-figure concurrent audiences shortly after launch. What makes the story even more remarkable is how fast the project came together — development began just a few months ago.

According to developer Nuggets Entertainment, RV There Yet? began life as a summer game jam entry and rapidly evolved into a full release. In a developer blog post, the team said they considered an Early Access launch but ultimately decided the game already felt complete and enjoyable.

The developers said they’ll be rolling out a few additions in the coming weeks, including configurable keybindings, full controller support, in-game localization, achievements, and a Steam Deck Verified badge.

We might be in the midst of a co-op renaissance — if you like cooperative play, it’s a great time to try some of the top co-op experiences available right now.
