Australian actor Hugh Jackman has made it clear that he isn’t quite ready to close the chapter on his iconic role as Wolverine.
He also emphasized that he has no intention of offering unsolicited advice to whoever might eventually step into the role.
I’m 57. I’ll be doing this until I’m 90. So, I’ll just leave a little time capsule for them. I have no plans to tell the next person anything, mostly because nobody gave me any instructions when I started, and I’m genuinely grateful for that. I didn’t even read the comics at the time, so I approached the character with a completely blank slate. I’ve learned so much throughout these years. Of course, I have my own perspective, but that is specific to me. I truly hope that whoever comes next simply arrives and makes the character their own,
Jackman remarked in an interview with Project Big Screen. Jackman has portrayed Wolverine since the original “X-Men” film debuted in 2000. Although the character met his end in “Logan,” he was subsequently “resurrected” for “Deadpool & Wolverine.” Jackman has also repeatedly hinted at his potential return to the franchise.
The actor recently appeared in the detective comedy “Sheep Dog.” Reports also suggest that he is involved in Ridley Scott’s upcoming adaptation of “Treasure Island.”
