Channing Tatum’s “Josephine” to be released in Russia

Distributor Volga has acquired the rights for the gripping thriller “Josephine” in Russia. The film, starring Channing Tatum, is slated for a domestic theatrical release on November 26.

The story follows eight-year-old Josephine (played by newcomer Mason Reeves), who suffers a severe trauma after witnessing a sexual assault in a park. As the young girl struggles with crippling anxiety, her parents—portrayed by Tatum and Gemma Chan—find themselves helpless to intervene. With the trial approaching, the pressure mounts on Josephine, as the entire legal outcome hinges on her testimony.

The film was written and directed by Beth de Araújo (“Soft & Quiet”). “Josephine” premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where it captured two prestigious accolades: the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award. It has garnered widespread critical acclaim, boasting an impressive 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
