Baywatch Reboot Gets a Release Date

Fox has announced when its Baywatch revival will arrive. The new take on the cult classic is set to premiere on January 6, 2027.

The story follows Hobie Buchannon, the son of Mitch (David Hasselhoff), who has risen to become captain of the lifeguards. Things change when his daughter Charlie, whom he never knew he had, joins his team.

The reboot’s cast includes Stephen Amell (Arrow), Jessica Belkin, Noah Beck, Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, Brooks Nader and others. Matt Nix (Burn Notice) is serving as showrunner, and McG (Charlie’s Angels) directed the pilot. The first season will run for 12 episodes.

The original Baywatch, starring Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, debuted in 1989 and ran for 11 seasons. A feature-film remake with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron followed in 2017.
