“Clayface” Tops the U.S. Box Office
The horror film Clayface claimed the top spot at the North American box office, earning roughly $24 million over its opening weekend. The DC Studios picture centers on one of Batman’s adversaries and marks Warner Bros.’ first notable box office win in some time. With a budget of around $40 million, the film is off to a promising start.
In second place was the documentary You Can See Everything, which examines Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes. In its second weekend, it took in about $19.5 million, a gain of roughly 23% over its debut frame. After expanding from 855 to 2,655 theaters, its North American total has reached $45 million.
So while Clayface won the weekend, the documentary keeps building its audience and is posting a second-week box office increase that is rare for the genre.
