Zendaya Put Forward for an Oscar for the Final “Dune”
Variety reports that an awards campaign is being planned for Zendaya for her work in Dune: Part Three.
Unlike the supporting-actress campaigns for the previous two films, she will this time be pushed in the Best Actress category. In the franchise, Zendaya plays Chani, a Fremen woman and the love interest of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet).
In the concluding chapter, Atreides has become a tyrannical emperor and must confront a new reality. The supporting cast includes Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Robert Pattinson, Jason Momoa and others, with Denis Villeneuve returning to direct. The film opens internationally on December 18.
2026 has been an exceptionally lucrative year for Zendaya. She appeared in three films (The Drama, The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day), wrapped filming on Euphoria, and has emerged as one of the biggest box-office draws, alongside Tom Holland and Anne Hathaway.
