Quentin Tarantino Shows Clip From “Cliff Booth”
Quentin Tarantino and David Fincher have presented the first 17 minutes of “The Adventures of Cliff Booth.” Tarantino wrote the screenplay, while Fincher directed the film. Brad Pitt returns in the title role.
Tarantino admitted that he grew fond of the character and was deeply impressed by Pitt’s performance. According to the writer, Cliff reminds him of the hero of a pulp adventure novel, someone who keeps stumbling into one fresh predicament after another. That quality inspired him to carry the character’s story forward.
The film is set in 1977, eight years after the events of “Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood.” Cliff now works at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles, yet he still finds himself pulled into dangerous situations.
The cast also includes Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. A limited IMAX release is scheduled for November 25, with the film arriving on Netflix on December 23.
