Rumor: “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” Star May Play Beast in New “X-Men”

Irish actor Peter Claffey (“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”) is reportedly set to take on the role of Beast in the X-Men reboot from Marvel and Sony, according to Knight Edge Media.

The casting has not yet been officially confirmed. Journalist Jeff Sneider first reported Claffey’s involvement in April of this year. Charles Melton (“May December”) and Cooper Hoffman (“The Long Walk”) were also said to be in the running for Beast, but both have reportedly dropped out of contention.

The cast already announced includes Sadie Sink, Samara Weaving, Adam Driver, Christopher Abbott, Kit Connor, Indy Navarrette, Maya Boyd and Asa Germann. Jake Schreier (“Thunderbolts*”) is directing.

Claffey recently wrapped filming on season two of “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.” An exact HBO release date has yet to be announced.
