Amanda Seyfried Doesn’t Regret Turning Down a Role in “Guardians of the Galaxy”
Amanda Seyfried, star of “Mamma Mia!” and “The Housemaid,” has opened up about the role she once passed on in Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
The actress was originally offered the part of Gamora, which ultimately went to Zoe Saldana. Seyfried declined to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and she still stands by that choice.
I still don’t regret my decision. I did it for myself. I did it for my family… And I simply don’t want to spend all my time sitting in a makeup trailer. I can’t sit still. I don’t like stunts, I don’t like heights, and I don’t like having to imagine an entire world. I need something real to hold on to,
— Seyfried admitted in an interview with SAG-AFTRA.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” arrived in theaters in 2014 and grew into a trilogy. Its characters also appeared in “The Avengers” films. Altogether, the “Guardians” movies have earned $2.485 billion.
