Leonid Kanevsky to Star in Comedy “The Investigation Continues”

The plot follows Kanevsky, whose decades of unraveling mysteries on television have bled into his personal life. Driven by irrepressible professional habits, he constantly scrutinizes those around him, hunts for clues, and treats mundane domestic occurrences as high-stakes criminal puzzles. Exhausted by her husband’s occupational fixation, his wife, Anna, sends him away to a quiet, remote village in hopes that the rural serenity will offer a much-needed reprieve from his obsession with crime-solving.

However, her plan is quickly derailed when a local girl named Olya approaches Kanevsky to help find her missing dog, Zhuchka. In the village, the dog’s disappearance has already fueled a storm of rumors, suspicion, and petty accusations. Though he initially resists, the protagonist finds he cannot ignore the lure of a new mystery, and his instinct to uncover the truth takes over.

Teaming up with Olya, he begins to unravel the enigma of the lost pet. He soon realizes that the search serves a deeper purpose than merely finding the dog; the connection he forms with the young girl encourages him to reevaluate his own life, while he, in turn, teaches her the courage to ask difficult questions and seek out the truth.

The Investigation Continues is scheduled for a theatrical release in Russia on August 26, 2027.
