“These skilled developers spent roughly between one and two-and-a-half years laying the game’s groundwork before I left voluntarily and the studio was closed,” Lehto writes. “Despite their meaningful work, most of those laid off were placed in a ‘Special Thanks’ section at the very end of the credits — and several individuals were omitted entirely, myself included.”

Lehto also shared an image that attributes each contributor by discipline, and highlighted five people — including himself — who he says were left out of the credits. The others named as missing are Andres Naranjo and Rohan Knuckey from the art team, plus Jessica Moore and Dan Carr from engineering.

Credits in video games can be complicated and inconsistent; there’s no universal requirement for listing every person who contributed. Big-budget releases often involve hundreds of collaborators, and Lehto argues that everyone who helped bring the project to completion deserves proper recognition.

“Game development is a team effort, and every contributor deserves fair acknowledgment,” he adds.

Battlefield 6 has sold 7 million copies, EA calls it “the biggest launch in franchise history” and immediately outlines plans for a connected Battlefield universe.
