Devil May Cry 5 for Nintendo Switch 2 outperforms the PlayStation 4 version by maintaining a steady 60 frames per second.
Digital Foundry experts praised Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition for the platform. The main advantage is performance. In docked mode at 60Hz, the game consistently hits 60 frames per second. This improvement over the PlayStation 4—which suffered from frequent frame drops—is notable. Capcom capped the frame rate to ensure stable gameplay and lower input latency.
The console’s storage drive also enables fast loading. Transitions take only a few seconds.
The game uses DLSS technology to reconstruct images. In docked mode, the game scales from approximately 540p to produce a clear, stable output. Jagged edges appear less prominent than on the PlayStation 4, though the PlayStation 5 remains the superior visual experience.
Handheld mode uses a base resolution of 360p, upscaled to 720p via DLSS. The image appears softer, and fast motion occasionally reveals minor artifacts.
Digital Foundry considers this a successful port. While the game does not push the limits of the Nintendo Switch 2, it balances visual fidelity and frame rate better than the PlayStation 4 version.
