Fan recreates Need for Speed Most Wanted map and gameplay in Roblox
A modder plans to hire artists and change the content to avoid copyright infringement issues with Electronic Arts.
Players have recently revisited the cult classic from Electronic Arts’ racing franchise. The author of the YouTube channel tabby published a development diary for an unofficial remake of Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). They rebuilt the arcade racing game using the Roblox platform engine and showcased a selection of gameplay footage.
The developer did not just recreate the familiar Rockport map from NFS: Most Wanted (2005); they also implemented gameplay mechanics and systems. Physics are functional, players can smash objects (ranging from cones and benches to triggering a donut trap), and both nitro boosts and slow-motion features are operational.
Additionally, the police pursuit system features varying wanted levels, car sales are functional, and vehicle tuning is available.
tabby clarified that this showcase of the Roblox Need for Speed: Most Wanted project is simply a technical demo, meaning it will not be released in this exact form.

So far, tabby is not ready to provide even an approximate release window for the project. They explained that they plan to find artists in order to remove all content whose rights belong to Electronic Arts.
