Cyberpunk Creator Mike Pondsmith Says He’s Closely Monitoring CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2: “People Have Been Showing Me What They’re Doing”

Pondsmith says he then took that vision to CD Projekt Red’s Kraków studio. “The important part was that everyone listened,” he adds, and he began to see elements in the game reflect the ideas he’d described because the team kept soliciting his feedback.

“People asked me constantly, ‘What do you think?'” he continues. “That still happens. On a recent trip to CD Projekt, developers showed me what they’re working on — the next iteration of the game, bits of TV and radio content, and more — and they kept asking for my opinion. That keeps us aligned and produces consistent outcomes.”

If that level of collaboration continues, Project Orion should remain faithful to Pondsmith’s original vision and the established universe. There’s no official release date or confirmed title yet, but Keanu Reeves has already expressed interest in returning as Johnny Silverhand.
