“There’s ways to handle it outside of that. But you’ll see,” he wrote on Twitter, adding a winking emoticon. Though intentionally vague, the response implies there will be mechanics or tools to manage close-range encounters — assuming players master them.

Earlier hints pointed to Warzone-style armor plating. Tactical equipment looks set to be a major part of RedSec’s meta, alongside whatever unique features will differentiate it from the crowded battle royale market.

Battlefield’s hallmark destructible environments, varied terrain types, and focus on momentum have long made the series a natural fit for a battle royale. Expect RedSec to be frenetic at launch and to present a steep learning curve for newcomers — survive, adapt, or be eliminated.

Former Battlefield 6 campaign lead says he and other developers were left disappointed after not receiving proper credit, despite working tirelessly for 1 to 2.5 years to lay the game’s foundation.
