Xbox Head Asha Sharma Spends Hours Each Month Answering Player Inquiries
In tune with the community.
Xbox General Manager Asha Sharma apparently prefers not to limit her management duties to an office. A new report from The Wall Street Journal reveals that the head of Microsoft’s gaming division spends several hours each month personally answering user support tickets for Xbox.
According to the publication, this hands-on experience has allowed her to see firsthand how difficult it can sometimes be to resolve even a single player issue that initially appears simple.

Following her appointment to the leadership role, Sharma immediately took charge of several development areas for Xbox. The company is reevaluating its approach to Xbox Game Pass, attempting to strengthen the Xbox brand as a gaming platform, and implementing sweeping changes within the division simultaneously. Sharma herself has repeatedly emphasized the need for extreme honesty regarding the state of the business.
As The Wall Street Journal reports, Sharma’s guiding principle can be summed up as “clarity is kindness.” That is why the executive strives to speak openly with employees about company metrics, its challenges, and the current state of affairs.
