Microsoft’s Alligator Xbox May Be a GTA VI Marketing Workaround
Microsoft unveils alligator-shaped Xbox Series X-BITE for social media sweepstakes
Microsoft has introduced a working Xbox Series X inside a giant alligator figure, with one console available to win in a social media sweepstakes.
The Xbox Series X-BITE appears to nod to GTA VI and Florida, although Microsoft did not officially mention the game.
The full-size figure looks as though it has swallowed an Xbox Series X and measures more than 1.5 meters long. An illuminated Xbox logo sits on the alligator’s body, and a special controller bearing bite marks rests between its jaws. The console will not be sold to the public.
Microsoft is giving away the only Xbox Series X-BITE to a US resident older than 18. To enter, participants must follow Xbox’s official social media accounts and repost the announcement with the hashtag #XbiteSweepstakes. The sweepstakes runs until November 10, 2026. Microsoft said no real alligators were harmed in the making of the figure.
Xbox announced that it is taking the promotion to Florida in November, a state known for its alligators and natural landscapes. The promotional materials do not directly mention GTA VI. PlayStation has a marketing agreement with Take-Two, so Microsoft cannot use Rockstar’s game to directly promote its consoles.
