Blue Eye Samurai Season 2 Gets Trailer and Release Date as Mizu Heads to London
Netflix has released a new teaser for the second season of “Blue Eye Samurai” and announced that it will premiere on January 19, 2027. The creators have also revealed plans for a third and final season.
The second season will consist of six episodes and pick up immediately after the first season finale. Mizu’s quest for revenge will take her to London, where she must find the two remaining men on her list, Skeffington and Routley. One of them may be her father.
Creators Michael Green and Amber Noizumi offered a glimpse of the challenges awaiting Mizu in the English capital:
“Crime flourished in London in 1657, which echoes our story of Japan in many ways. Mizu will have to navigate this dark underworld in a Puritan society where women were persecuted as witches, bars and theaters were shut down, and even Christmas was banned. If you know Mizu, you know she doesn’t tolerate oppression well, especially when it gets in the way of her revenge. […] Mizu is a force of nature: we’re putting an explosive element in an unstable environment and waiting for a chain reaction.”
Meanwhile, the story in Japan will continue to unfold. Akemi and Taigen will find themselves in Edo Castle under the rule of a dangerous new shogun, while Ringo will try to find his place in life after the events he has experienced.
Maya Erskine will return as Mizu. Jonathan Pryce, Joel Kim Booster and Sherry Cola will join the cast.

Netflix has confirmed that the third season will be the show’s last and will arrive in 2028. Green and Noizumi said they have known how Mizu’s journey would end since the first episode. Thanks to viewers’ support, they can now bring her story to its originally planned conclusion.
