The Chinese MMORPG Where Winds Meet has yet to launch, but it has already attracted a vast audience. Everstone Studios reports that more than 5 million players have registered during the pre-registration period.
The game is scheduled to release on November 14, 2025. It will be available on PlayStation 5, PC (Steam, Windows Store, and Epic Games Store), and on mobile devices running iOS and Android. Free-to-play, the title draws on Chinese history and the wuxia aesthetic—featuring acrobatic combat and contemplative, philosophical themes.
The developers have been actively promoting the project and debuted a new trailer at IGN Fan Fest. Rather than emphasizing narrative or combat mechanics, the footage highlights the open world’s visual splendor, a variety of landscapes, and the ambience of daily life in 10th-century China.
In addition to clashes with formidable foes and historic events, players can enjoy activities that provide respite from fighting and help them become part of local life: fishing, crafting, journeys, and a range of mini-games.
Everstone notes that the steady release of new videos is having an effect—interest in Where Winds Meet is rising rapidly. The studio hopes this will become the largest Chinese MMO launch aimed at Western audiences.
